What you are still trying to grow alone
Look honestly at your week. Where have you been working like a branch trying to manufacture its own sap — gritting through something God intended to supply, treating exhaustion as evidence of devotion? The passage is not impressed by that. It says plainly: apart from me you can do nothing. Not “you can do it badly.” Nothing.
That is not a discouragement. It is a redirect. The energy you've been spending on self-manufactured fruit is available for something else: staying.
One small act of remaining
This passage doesn't ask for a plan. It asks for a stay. Today, pick one place where you'd normally push, and instead, remain — do the smaller, quieter version of faithfulness and let the increase belong to Him. It might be a conversation, a task, a fear. Whatever it is, don't work it. Stay attached to Him inside it and see what's still true.
A prayer
Jesus, show me one place today where I've been striving instead of abiding. Let me set the striving down, even for an hour, and see that you do not need my grip to keep me alive. Amen.
